Our oceans are home to millions of tons of discarded plastic that threatens a lot of maritime life and also leaves traces deep into our food chain. It is a problem with a staggering scale. Despite the increasing popularity of drinking cans, many plastic bottles are still being consumed. Eveline developed mOcean, a beverage vending machine for student campuses that reduces the use of bottles and cans.
Eveline worked further on the idea of her team during the Ecodesign Challenge Plastic Soup. She developed mOcean, a beverage vending machine for student campuses that reduces the use of bottles and cans. With your (student) card you pay for your drink of choice. Your water can is filled with water, mixed with a syrup that is selected via a touchscreen. What makes the mOcean unique is that it not only fills your water can, but also cleans it.
