MÖBEL table

Extendable dining room table made of recycled wood

The innovative ResourceLab has, in the MÖBEL project, brought together well-known designers and the social economy in Turnhout. The table, the work of the Belgian architects' collective JIJ'S (architects de vylder vinck taillieu and Serge Vandenhove), consists of simple plywood layers fitted with a new table covering and 'table socks'.

They worked with the multi-layered recycled material known as 'layercake', a tried and tested material used by ResourceLab. JIJ'S wanted to endow the table with the generosity that is typical of this particular recycled material. The legs and table top can be sold as a set but may also be purchased separately.
